Backend Developer - Energy Analytics

About the role
StormGeo Energy Analytics is building a next-generation analytics platform for the energy and power markets. The platform is developed from the ground up, while leveraging existing components, services, and capabilities from StormGeo’s technology organization. Our team is highly cross-functional, with collaboration across engineering, data science, meteorology, market analysis, and product design.

As a Backend Developer, you will build Python-based services for real-time and AI-driven applications in the European power market. You will focus on scalable DataOps systems that enable data scientists to process, store, and operate on large volumes of data.

📍The preferred location for this position is Oslo, Norway. Other StormGeo office locations may be considered for the right candidate.

What you’ll do

• Develop scalable Python backend services.
• Build systems for real-time and AI-driven workloads.
• Design DataOps tooling for large-scale data processing.
• Collaborate closely with data scientists.
• Contribute to system reliability, monitoring, and operations.

What we’re looking for
Core requirements

• Strong professional experience with Python.
• Experience building backend systems for data-intensive workloads.
• Understanding of scalable data processing architectures.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• DataOps or ML operations experience.
• Monitoring, operations, and CI/CD experience.
• Energy or analytics domain knowledge.
