About the role 

At StormGeo, we transform complex weather and climate data into actionable insights that keep global industries safer, smarter, and more sustainable. We’re now looking for an experienced Angular Frontend Developer to help us deliver high-quality, intuitive applications that make a real-world impact.  

🚨 Important: This position is based in the Bergen office (60/40 hybrid office) and is open to candidates residing in a NATO country (for security and cooperation reasons). Candidates must have the right to work in Norway.   

Main Responsibilities 

  • Create intuitive Angular applications that translate complex weather and climate data into actionable insights. 
  • Develop and optimize web applications for scalability and performance. 
  • Integrate data APIs into responsive, user-centric interfaces. 
  • Contribute to our design system and reusable component libraries. 
  • Collaborate closely with UX/UI experts, backend engineers, and domain specialists. 
  • Support a culture of testing, code quality, and security-aware development. 

 Requirements 

  • 4+ years of professional Angular experience in production environments. 
  • Strong TypeScript/JavaScript skills with an emphasis on clean architecture. 
  • Hands-on experience with modern Angular (v15+), including standalone components and strict typing. 
  • Practical experience with state management libraries (such as NgRx). 
  • Proven ability to integrate APIs and deliver polished, performant UIs. 
  • Passion for UX, accessibility, and frontend best practices. 
  • Security-conscious approach to frontend development. 
  • Strong communication skills in English (Norwegian is a plus). 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with frontend testing frameworks (Jest and Cypress). 
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD) and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes). 
  • Exposure to micro-frontend architecture and modular application design (module federation and NX). 
  • Understanding of cloud-based frontend delivery (CDN, caching, performance tuning). 
  • Experience with geospatial/mapping libraries (Leaflet, MapLibre, OpenLayers). 
  • Knowledge of frontend observability/monitoring tools (LGTM stack, OpenTelemetry, etc.). 
  • Proactive mindset with a willingness to mentor or support team growth.
