Espen Martinsen serves as the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) at StormGeo. With over 15 years of experience in sales leadership and strategic business development, Espen has demonstrated a strong commitment to driving growth and innovation within the shipping industry.

Espen has been instrumental in transforming StormGeo into a leader in ship operations. Under his guidance, the integration of platforms from industry leaders such as Nautisk, Bunker Metrics, DNV, and StormGeo has resulted in a market-leading solution that serves over 13,000 vessels. This comprehensive platform offers clients a one-stop shop for vessel and voyage optimization, environmental compliance, and efficient bunker procurement and planning.

Espen's key motivation at StormGeo is to support shipping companies in improving energy efficiency and reducing their carbon footprint. By combining technology, profitability, and innovation in developing new solutions, he helps clients achieve significant operational improvements.

Before joining StormGeo, Espen served as the Nordic Director at the LEGO Group, where he honed his skills in managing large-scale operations and logistics with a focus on creativity and sustainability. Prior to this, his tenure at SuperOffice, a leading European software company, provided him with valuable insights into digital strategies and data sharing, laying the foundation for his work with technology and digital solutions.

Since 2006, Michael O' Brien has been an integral part of the StormGeo family. He began by establishing the New York office and has since contributed significantly across various operational capacities in New York, California, and now Germany.

In 2023, assumed the role of Chief Operating Officer at StormGeo, bringing with him three decades of diverse leadership and operational experience. His journey includes the following key milestones:

Vice President of Route Advisory Services where he spearheaded operational and customer teams dedicated to the Route Optimization division at StormGeo.

Rich Operational Background: where he held various positions from being a Deck Officer with Great Lakes Dredge and Dry Dock to serving as a Routing Operations Manager at Weathernews Inc and an Operational Lead at Bendix Marine Science/Allied Signal Aerospace.

Vice President of Product Development, where he played a pivotal role in establishing a new product organization within StormGeo, delivering valuable products and services to both internal and external stakeholders.

Michael's extensive background and commitment to StormGeo make him a valuable asset to our team.

Petter Andersen serves as the Vice President Shipping at StormGeo. With a wealth of expertise in the shipping industry, Petter specializes in weather routing services, voyage optimization, and route planning, as well as commercial, technical, and environmental vessel performance. He possesses a deep understanding of shipping decarbonization, emission compliance, and digitalization, making him a valuable asset in navigating the evolving landscape of sustainable shipping practices. 

At StormGeo, Petter leverages his technical expertise to drive innovation and ensure StormGeo's shipping services align with future needs in terms of decarbonization and emission regulatory compliance.  

With his extensive knowledge, Petter continues to play a pivotal role in driving the digital development and innovation of StormGeo's shipping services, empowering the industry to meet the challenges of a sustainable and environmentally conscious future. 

Commander Antoni Therattil (Retd) is the General Manager (Operations) for MENA & APAC at StormGeo, bringing extensive expertise in meteorology, oceanography, and operational forecasting spanning nearly four decades. He holds advanced qualifications, including an MS in Meteorology, an MS in Mathematics, a Master of Business Administration from Symbiosis Pune, and additional specialization in Oceanography from IIT Delhi. Before joining StormGeo, he served in the Indian Navy as Joint Director (Meteorology & Oceanography) at Naval Headquarters, gaining substantial sailing and research experience across the region. His multidisciplinary background and leadership continue to play a pivotal role in advancing StormGeo’s mission to deliver high‑impact weather and operational intelligence across the region.
