StormGeo’s Performance Center service helps vessel operators turn onboard data into practical insights for better vessel performance. It combines sensor data and digital reporting with analysis from StormGeo’s performance experts to monitor data quality, identify operational issues and uncover opportunities to improve energy efficiency and reduce fuel consumption.
The service provides customizable alerts on data quality and vessel performance. These cover regulatory reporting and operational areas such as boiler and engine consumption, auxiliary engine utilization and hull performance. Each alert includes recommended actions for onboard and shore-based teams.
In 2025, a customer recorded 1,097 metric tons less auxiliary engine and boiler fuel consumption across its 54 bulk carriers than in 2024. StormGeo’s Performance Center service supported the fleet with ongoing vessel performance monitoring, data quality checks and timely alerts. This gave onboard and shore-based teams relevant information to review performance issues and decide where follow-up was needed.

StormGeo’s dedicated performance experts, many with seafaring backgrounds, monitor vessel data and help customers identify opportunities to improve fleet performance. They send regular notifications covering technical, commercial and environmental performance.
Reliable data is essential to make these alerts useful. The s-Insight Log onboard reporting tool uses built-in plausibility checks to identify many data quality issues at source. When further attention is needed, the Performance Center and customer support teams follow up with the customer. Ongoing data quality monitoring also supports the preparation of emissions data for timely submission and verification.
The customer’s results at a glance
Estimated fuel cost savings are calculated using the 2025 G20 VLSFO annual average of USD 536 per metric ton, based on Ship & Bunker data. The fuel reduction is the measured year-on-year result; fuel cost savings and CO₂ reduction are estimates.
These results reflect a combination of performance monitoring and cooperation between vessel crews and shore teams. Timely alerts, appropriate thresholds and consistent use of best practices can help teams respond to performance issues and sustain progress.

Fuel consumption is influenced by many factors, including vessel operations and follow-up. StormGeo’s Performance Center service helps teams keep vessel performance and data quality in focus, using onboard reporting, expert monitoring and actionable alerts to identify opportunities to reduce fuel consumption, operating costs and emissions.
