Oslo, 6 November 2025 — StormGeo, a global leader in weather intelligence and voyage planning solutions, has been awarded the SMART4SEA EUROPORT E-Navigation Award 2025 for its innovative s-Planner solution.
Held during the Europort 2025 exhibition in Rotterdam, this prestigious recognition acknowledges organizations that have delivered a significant achievement, breakthrough, or contribution in any aspect of e-navigation in shipping.
s-Planner is StormGeo’s integrated onboard voyage planning solution, empowering bridge teams to plan, evaluate, and manage vessel routes safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with global regulations. As part of the StormGeo s-Suite, s-Planner brings together smart routing, compliance management, and real-time navigation tools in one unified platform. It enables navigators to make informed decisions with live weather overlays, risk and restriction layers, official ENC and publication management, and automated, export-ready reporting — all designed to simplify complex voyage planning processes.
Taking the stage to accept the award on behalf of StormGeo, Yunus Kaya, Solution Sales Manager Euro North at StormGeo said, “This award is not just about technology — it’s about people. It’s about the seafarers who rely on timely, accurate insights to make decisions in challenging conditions. It’s about our partners and clients who trust us to stand beside them as they take on the complexities of decarbonization and safety. And it’s about the incredible StormGeo team, whose dedication and innovation made this possible.”
Commenting on the award, Amaranta Rundin, Product Director Planning & Navigation at StormGeo said, “We are absolutely delighted to receive this recognition. Awards like this are deeply motivating for our teams and a testament to their continuous drive for excellence. At StormGeo, we are constantly seeking new ways to enhance and to better support seafarers and operators. Our goal is to make voyage planning simpler, safer, and more efficient, helping crews navigate with confidence every day.”
With the release of s-Planner's latest version, StormGeo introduced powerful new capabilities, including the Variable Speed / Track Optimization module, enhanced vessel-performance modelling, and deeper ship-to-shore integration — enabling fleets to plan smarter, navigate safer, and operate more sustainably.
Variable Speed / Track Optimization allows vessels to model multiple speed scenarios across voyage segments, accounting for weather, fuel consumption, arrival windows, and operational constraints. As a result, operators can achieve up to 5% fuel savings, reduced waiting times, and lower emissions.
The SMART4SEA EUROPORT E-Navigation Award recognizes StormGeo’s ongoing commitment to developing cutting-edge technology that empowers the maritime sector to navigate an increasingly complex operational and regulatory landscape.
As the industry moves toward integrated, one-stop digital solutions, tools like s-Planner play a pivotal role in enabling safer, smarter, and more efficient voyage planning.
“We have found s-Planner to be extremely user-friendly. We receive charts and corrections promptly and can continue voyages safely in a cost-effective and eco-friendly manner.”
Michalis Psarros — Operations Manager at Tide Line Inc.
