Oslo, Norway, 20.10.2026 – StormGeo, a global leader in weather intelligence and decision-support solutions and part of Alfa Laval, has appointed Melissa Mills as Chief Product Officer, starting January 11, 2027. In her role, Mills will shape the company’s product vision, lead the product and portfolio strategy, and guide product development to enhance customer value.

StormGeo’s products combine weather intelligence, digital tools, and industry expertise to support decision-making and safe, efficient, and sustainable operations across shipping, energy, and other weather-sensitive industries. Mills will drive the portfolio’s evolution by aligning customer insights, product, design, and engineering to turn advances in digital technology, including AI, into practical value for customers.

“StormGeo has developed a strong position as a global provider of weather intelligence and decision-support solutions. They have built a product portfolio and paired it with people who know these industries deeply to create a complete service for their customers. I am excited to help turn more of that expertise into products customers can rely on every day,” said Mills.

For Mills, innovation begins with understanding customer challenges. She prioritizes staying close to customers to clearly define their problems and understand their needs before identifying the best way to solve them through continuous product development and improvement.

“Product sits between our customers and the teams who build for them. My job is to keep the two close, spending real time with customers and colleagues, being clear about which problems to solve, and building solutions that improve daily operations. Understanding what customers need is the foundation, and AI helps us move faster,” said Mills.

For StormGeo, the customer focus goes hand in hand with its ambition to leverage AI and digital technology to deliver more useful product capabilities and more efficient product development processes.

“Melissa brings strong product leadership and deep AI experience, as well as experience at major global technology companies. Her background fits well with StormGeo’s ambition to become a leading provider of decision-support software for shipping, energy, and weather-sensitive companies worldwide. I strongly believe Melissa will bring valuable perspectives to our processes, products, and tools, ultimately to the benefit of our customers,” said Kim Sørensen, CEO at StormGeo.

Melissa joins StormGeo from her role as VP of Product at Ardoq, where she helped professionalize product and design functions, matured the R&D operating model, and implemented AI into product team workflows. Melissa has previously held senior product management positions at Google, Kahoot!, and involve.ai.
