Outlook for the 2025 Hurricane Season

Despite four named storms forming by early August, each was brief and relatively weak an indication that tropical conditions have generally been unfavorable for storm development. The Main Development Region, stretching from the eastern Caribbean to the coast of Africa, has seen minimal significant activity. Most disturbances emerging off Africa’s coast have either fizzled out quickly or veered northward, bypassing the eastern Caribbean altogether.
